TL ULTRALIGHT STING

The design of the Sting S4 is based on the experience acquired with the Sting Carbon, the brand's legend, which has been produced in nearly 400 units in about ten years. The new model is even more innovative and perfected to the extreme.

Since beginning of July we are flying the GLOR-3-180-C8-T on our Sting TL96 on a Permit to Fly basis. We have tested it solo with max. T/O weight of 472 kg and with glider towing.
Solo the ground roll has shrunk to amazing 97 m and the climb rate was measured to be 7 m/s. We also towed heavy gliders such as DG1001 and Duo Discus XLT from our 600 m grass strip at high temperatures and calm winds.
Some glider pilots of single seaters released themselves from the tow too early, thinking that the climb rate was caused by thermals – which was not the case…
We are very impressed by the performance of the propeller and hope that the durability will be as good as the performance.
I am proud to inform you that our club has just obtained the Supplementary Type Certification (STC) for the use of the GLOR-3-180-C8-T on the Sting TL96 by Ultralight.

We installed a E-Prop on our 80HP Rotax powered TL Sting with Woodcomp prop. The performance difference is amazing. Definitely quieter. In the past we had to continuously decrease power as speed increased to keep RPM ‘in the green’ meaning the cruise speed was limited to about 90 kts, and probably…. 60% power. The Static RPM for that prop was set at 5000 as per manufacturer’s specification, so no room to modify. Now with the E-Prop and its ‘constant speed’ effect we can fly wide open throttle, straight and level, and not exceed 5400 rpm, indicating 105kts. from takeoff to 90 kts, full power it was 5200rpm. In all phases of flight I was able to fly with full power set, even a shallow descent. No matter how many positive reviews you read you will still be surprised by how good it is. A pleaseant surprise was its arrival in USA less than 10 days from ordering. Thankyou Team E-Prop!!

Thanks to your 6-month Money Back Guarantee, I dared to test Glorieuse on my Sting. I'd had a bad experience with a competing brand (DUC, unfortunately), which I'm still stuck with—minus the Inconel shielding.

We have finished testing our new Glorieuse constant speed propeller on the Sting.
In one word: impressive.
To compare, we had the original PowerMax Sport Aircraft constant speed propeller made by TL Ultralight. It has a diameter of 175 cm. It weighs 10.5 kg + the spinner dia 235 mm 800 g, that is a total of 11.3 kg. The pitch adjustment range is 10°.
The Eprop Glorieuse has the same diameter of 175 cm, and only 4 kg for the whole propeller + 230 mm spinner system. It is extremely impressive. The carbon parts have a beautiful design. Pitch amplitude 16°.
The first impression is the feeling of being pulled off the ground when you put the throttle on. Then a reactivity between big pitch and small pitch (2,7 sec !). A smoothness of use.
On the performance side: we gain at least 40 meters of rolling at takeoff, 500 ft/min in rate of climb and 12 km/h in max speed, and 7,3 kg payload.
A success on all points.
The only thing left to do is to connect the standard pitch control instead of the regulator (but you get used to it very quickly). I believe that this is under development in the design office. And then, this propeller will be just PERFECT.
