E-PROPS CS GLORIEUSE: Governors & Regulators / Inspection & Revision


To control the propeller and interface with the pilot, there are different governors & regulators solutions for the Constant Speed GLORIEUSE propeller range.

1- E-Props Governors & Cylinder

E-Props Governors
Hydraulic actuator with electronic management
The robustness of the hydraulic actuator and the precision of the electronics

GLORIEUSE and reliability:
✗  no cyclic loading on aluminium components = no cracks
✗  no bearing = no jamming
✗  no lubricant = no leakage

Two different solenoid E-Props valves:
✗  for Rotax configuration 2 (electric or fixed pitch)
Rotax 912ULS2 (Configuration 2) means: the propeller shaft in the gearbox is not set up for hydraulic governor for constant speed (Large bore hole through center). It is the most common and the less expensive version of Rotax 4-stroke engines.
✗  for Rotax configuration 3 (hydraulic)
Rotax 912ULS3 (Configuration 3) means: the propeller shaft has a small bore on end allowing oil from the governor to reach the constant speed propeller. This version is less common and more expensive than the version 2.

2- Potentiometer

Potentiometer
Easy to use. For panels that don't have room enough for an additional instrument.
Diameter = 30 mm
Weight = 35 g
If you have not enough place on the control panel, and RPM/PA indications on your own display.

3- Instrument / Setting

E-PROPS "Constant Speed" specific instrument, designed and manufactured by E-PROPS, adapted for GLORIEUSE in-flight variable pitch propellers range.

RPM adjustment potentiometer, intake pressure,
Diameter = 57 mm (2.24 inch)
Weight = 70 g
Automatic over-torque and over-rpm protection
Setting via Bluetooth => see below
High readability screen
Developped by E-Props especially for the Constant Speed Propellers range.
The best solution to control the propeller for a high reactivity.

4- Single Lever

E-Props provides the Single Lever Command for Rotax 912iS and 915iS.
Very simple: setting just with the power lever.
Nothing on the control panel : no instrument, no potentiometer.
The simplest solution to manage the variable pitch system.

=> Please note : Single Lever system is not available for the moment. Coming soon.


5- Adaptation to other brands of Hydraulic Governors & Regulators

It is possible to use the GLORIEUSE propellers with other brands of Hydraulic Governors & Regulators.
Only an E-Props cylinder must be used.
The tuning of the GLORIEUSE propeller with other Hydraulic Governors and Regulators will be the responsibility of the customer.

Price of the Cylinder (ref CC3hp) for other brands of Hydraulic Governors & Regulators (not E-Props) = 400 €


But why choose another system ? :-)
Other hydraulic governors and regulators (not E-Props) are much heavier and less responsive, more expensive and with a shorter TBO.



6- Glorieuse Propeller: Inspection & Overhaul

INSPECTION
For Rotax 912S, 912iS, 914 : recommended inspection at 1000 hrs
For Rotax 915iS : recommended inspection at 600 hrs
✗  Disassembly
✗  General inspection of the propeller
✗  Change 14 bearings (rotation transmission supports)
✗  Reassembly

Propeller inspection kit = 190 €
Indicative working time = 4 hrs


OVERHAUL
For Rotax 912S, 912iS, 914 : recommended overhaul at 2000 hrs
For Rotax 915iS : recommended overhaul at 1200 hrs
✗ Disassembly
✗ General inspection of the propeller
✗ Change 14 bearings (rotation transmission supports)
✗ Change of pitch control axes (6)
✗ Change of 3 blade axes (taking over the centrifugal force)
✗ Reassembly

Propeller overhaul kit = 420 €
Indicative working time = 5 hrs

7- Governor: Overhaul
