E-Props Users Feedback on the S-7 S COURIER :

DURANDAL-3
OK, I'm officially a convert. I flew to Wyoming for breakfast yesterday, 2.4 hrs, with my new and final pitch setting, which gets me right at 5500 RPM in WOT level flight, plus or minus 10 mph or so. With 3300 hours on my RANS S-7S, and another 1300 hours on a previous S-7, I think I know the plane pretty well. It outperforms the 78' fixed pitch 2 blade Prince in both cruise and climb, I'm getting AT LEAST 6 mph better cruise at the same RPM, (and for a slow, draggy plane with 29' tires, that represents a huge increase percentage wise) the weight loss and smoothness is a bonus! When flying local and solo, I usually carry some weight on my tail, now, with the weight loss at the hub that 2.5 pound weight is also gone, so I'm saving over 8 pounds total I figure. With the mountainous terrain all around me, I do a lot of climbing and also steep descents, I have noticed my glide is better, the sink rate is lower, when I chop the throttle and lower the nose to burn off altitude. As an old hang glider pilot, with a 9K ridge right behind my home, I do some dead stick ridge soaring a few times a year, I look forward to the next time as those skinny blades as compared to the wide chord Prince have to be a lot less draggier when dead stick. I also noticed on a spot landing, due to the rapid throttle response of the EDGE EFI (which I've only been flying for 30 hours) and the prop, when i added a bit of throttle to arrest my descent rate I ended up ballooning up a bit, I will need to get used to that, like the increased glide, shouldn't take long.

DURANDAL-3
Just landed with my Rans S7 Courier.
All good so far. I think the recommended setting was perfect.
Bit lumpy air so I don’t have accurate figures yet. But looking like 8 Knots increase cruise. Climbing well but feels very very different.
I have been doing a few circuits. Climb rate is best at 70knots 1100fpm. Previously best at 50knots 1100fpm. 40knot climb is much less at around 600 fpm
Pretty happy with it. Much easier to start. More responsive to throttle. Taken weights off the back for balance. Feels very different

DURANDAL-3
Thank you and thank you to the whole team for your beautiful propellers.
I only want e-props on our aircraft.
I received the package the day before yesterday and tried the Durandal this morning and I must say the result is excellent, well beyond my expectations!
For a smaller propeller diameter, shorter takeoff, better climb rate, less rpm for the same cruising speed and above all much less or more vibrations. The engine response is also much better due to the lightness of the whole. TOP TOP TOP TOP TOP.
Thank you for your work and your wonderful products.
