E-Props Users Feedback on the FK9 :

My FK9 has been fitted with a Duc since 2010. I was happy with it, but nothing more, and a friend decided to test an E-prop. I'd never have believed it: my FK9 now has plenty of take-off thrust and a speed I'd never achieved before. I think I've gained at least 10 km/h. If I'd thought that changing a propeller before would have so much influence on performance, I'd have done it long before. Bravo E-prop!

Take off to Level 100 in 8 minutes at 130km/h (only on board and 50L of fuel).
The Titanium version compared to the v12 gives a +-50m shorter takeoff on my machine because I'm at 5480 rpm at brake release and at 2500' full throttle 5530 rpm.
There we only see a very small value of +-50 rpm against +-100 rpm variation with the v12.
Conclusion: slightly better performance at takeoff, climb and about 5km/h more cruising speed with same fuel consumption compared to the v12.

Just to tell you that I'm very happy with the performance of the durandal propeller on the Fk9.
On the ground at full throttle I'm at 5450 rpm and at 3000' full pot 5550 rpm.
Basically what I can say for my 2006 Fk9 Mark 4:
+10kmh at 5000 and this with 2L less per hour.
It takes off a little shorter with a better climb rate.
It weighs 2 kg less than the old one.
I am a 3-axis ultralights instructor.

I have just fitted my FK9 with one of your propellers from the 2020 range, and i must admit that i'm very surprised by the quality of the product. first of all the parts are very well made - and i know all about it because i've been working in composite for racing boats for 40 years. the propeller is easy to fit and adjust. the comparative tests with the old propeller i had before give your propeller a big win on all points. nothing to complain about.

I have taken time to make complete comparative tests with the duc swirl I had before on my FK9 80 hp.
First remark: much less vibrations - it is absolutely amazing.
Better take-off distance about 50m. Better climb rate +1300 ft/mn against 900 ft/mn. Max speed 208 km/h

I will keep this e-prop.
I am interested to find out how your proppeller survives winter. How it tolerates snow on airfields and when flying in snow rain.
Compared to my Woodcomp Varia I would say :
- the take of performance is about the same
- climb is slightly better with e-prop
- cruise performance is about the same
- max level speed is about the same
- e-prop runs smoother (3-blade)
- fuel economy is about the same
- noise level is slightly less with e-prop
- e-prop is lighter
- pitch setting of e-prop is quite time consuming
- e-prop instructions are excellent
All in all very good nice propeller and wery good customer support.

Comparisons with my old two-blade Duc Flash propeller.
- Take-off : shorter ( about 50 meters less)
- Climb speed at full throttle 100 km/h: 1200 ft/min instead of 1000 ft/min
- Level at 2000 Ft QNH :
- 4800 t : 172km/h with 13,5l/h instead of 175 KM/h at 15l/h
- 5000t : 178 km/h with 15l/h instead of 178km/h (no change) and a consumption of 16,5l/h
- full throttle (5700 t/m): 200 km/h and 22 l/h instead of 192 km/h (consumption not measured).
The speeds are therefore slightly higher and the consumption (read and averaged on the flow meter) is slightly lower.
- Vibrations and noise: better than the Duc flash.
The E props propeller is therefore significantly more efficient than the 2-blade Duc Flash.
