Our history

E-PROPS was founded in 2008 in Sisteron-Vaumeilh by three aviation enthusiasts: Anne Lavrand, Jérémie Buiatti and Christian Vandamme. The company started out in electric propulsion for leisure aviation, with landmark achievements such as the Electra, the world's first 100 % electric aircraft (first flight in 2007), and the Cri-Cri Cristaline, holder of the world speed record for electric aircraft.

At the same time, E-Props propellers — first made of wood, then of carbon — met with growing success. In 2014, the team chose to focus entirely on designing and manufacturing them. This refocus quickly paid off : E-Props became the world leader in propellers for paramotors, then extended its high-performance carbon range to aircraft and ultralights.

Industrial growth followed : the Sisteron-Vaumeilh site grew from 1,000 m² at the outset to 8200 m² today. In March 2023, E-Props obtained its first EASA Type Certificate (CS-22J standard) for its 3-blade Durandal range — a key milestone in certifying its propellers and its production methods.

Today, E-Props has passed the milestone of 300,000 carbon blades produced, exports 90 % of its production to 86 countries, and works directly with 50 major aircraft and ultralight manufacturers.
