The Sling 2 was built for heroic adventure. Her maiden voyage flew Sling Aircraft founders Mike Blyth and James Pitman Around-The-World (ATW). A 40-day, 45,000km journey that included 22-hour legs of the severest of weather conditions. Her aluminium airframe makes for ease and consistency of construction, while offering proven strength and a longer lifespan than most composite rivals.

As I said, I am very happy with the Eprop on my Sling2. I have done nearly 200 hours both locally and to Lake Eyre and Longreach among others. My Sling2 performs the same as a mates 172, we have been on several tips together and the only difference in performance is I can climb quicker than him. In the cruise there is no difference, I indicate between 105 - 110 knots depending upon temperature and load and use a lot less fuel than the 172.

GLORIEUSE-3
On my Sling, I replaced my DUC Flash standard propeller with a Durandal E-Props last year, and then this year with the Glorieuse. The results are incredible. I’d already noticed a performance boost with the Durandal.
But with the Glorieuse, it’s even better: shorter takeoffs (I’m gaining 50 meters on takeoff), higher cruise speed, and lower fuel consumption. The Glorieuse provides yet another boost. A truly impressive improvement in the plane’s performance!

Four years after seeing these at Oshkosh, I finally made the switch to the Durandal-3 on my Sling 2. The immediate lack of inertia on engine startup and shutoff is amazing—no harsh shudder anymore. Smooth power delivery throughout the whole flight envelope and top-tier customer support from the E-Props team. Highly recommended!

I took the Sling 2 on a 1,200 NM cross-country with the Glorieuse-3 installed. High-altitude departure was effortless. Cruise performance is rock-solid and fuel burn is noticeably leaner at equivalent IAS. Having constant-speed performance without adding heavy hydraulics or complex wiring is brilliant engineering.

I have upgraded to the Glorieuse-3 constant-speed prop this spring. What an absolute game-changer for high-density altitude flying! The in-flight pitch control lets the Rotax sit right in its powerband for climb, then dials back for high-speed cruising. Super smooth, lightweight governor system, and the carbon finish looks killer on the ramp.

I've logged over 120 hours on this setup cruising through humid weather. The Durandal ground-adjustable prop is ridiculously light and tough. Setting the pitch was quick and straightforward. Cruising at 5,000 ft is noticeably quieter, and short-field takeoff distance dropped significantly. Best upgrade I’ve made to the aircraft hands down.

I replaced my original WarpDrive propeller with the Durandal three-blade propeller last month, and the difference is striking. My Sling 2’s rate of climb has improved by nearly 500 fpm, even in hot weather. Takeoff is smooth, there’s no vibration, and I’ve gained about 4 knots in cruising speed. Plus, the weight gain in the front has really helped me fine-tune my center of gravity. Exceptional quality!

I wanted to solve the vibration problems I was having with my wood propeller on my Sling. I tried E-Prop and it's completely finished. No more vibrations and I gained 10 km/h. Very happy!
