E-PROPS: TBO

TBO = Time Between Overhaul
This is the maximum time an aircraft engine or propeller can be used between or before an inspection/overhaul.

E-PROPS propellers TBO

Propellers not EASA certified:
A major inspection is recommended, but not mandatory (the owner is responsible for the maintenance of his aircraft).
This overhaul can be carried out by an E-PROPS-approved workshop, following an E-PROPS procedure.

Propellers EASA certified:
See here the list of EASA certified : E-PROPS certified
A major inspection is mandatory and must be carried out by the manufacturer.

E-PROPS propellers have a very high TBO compared with many competing propellers.
When purchasing a propeller, the TBO should be carefully considered. Some propellers have a TBO of only 150 hours (for example, propellers with aluminum or steel hubs).
In fact, dismantling a propeller and sending it to the manufacturer for inspection immobilizes the aircraft for a relatively long period, and this can be very expensive.

At E-PROPS, this overhaul:
- takes place at the end of a long period (high TBO)
- takes a few days, maximum 1 week (E-Props commitment)
- has a very reasonable cost
