Thanks to their ESR EFFECT (Extended Speed Range), ASCALON propellers have strong thrust at all engine RPM.
5- Noise Reduction
Initial noise measurements show promising results.
A noise reduction of 6 dB(A) was measured when comparing ASCALON to a standard propeller on an aircraft equipped with an exhaust silencer.
6- Certifications
The ASCALON range complies with ASTM F2506-13, with a TBO of 2000 hours.
Work on EASA CS-P certification for this range is underway.
The TC (Type Certificate) application has been submitted to EASA.
It is currently being reviewed, and 7 engineers from the E-PROPS design office are working on this certification to move forward as quickly as possible.
Once the EASA TC has been obtained, E-PROPS will apply for FAA 14 CFR PART 35 certification.
Finally, tests must also be carried out for the STCs (Supplemental Type Certificates) for each aircraft-engine-propeller combination.
February 1st, 2026: the ASCALON range is now on the market! The first models, available in 2- and 3-blade versions,
are offered for Lycoming O-360 engines.

Many other models for all configurations will be available soon.
9- Experimental Torsional Vibration Analysis of Different Propellers on a Lycoming O-360
This report presents an experimental study of torsional vibrations in a direct-drive Lycoming O-360 engine–propeller assembly. Vibratory torque
measurements were performed during ground and flight tests on several propeller configurations (aluminium, wood, multi-blade carbon fiber and
3-blade carbon fiber). The results highlight significant differences in torsional resonance behavior, and demonstrate that an optimized propeller
design can substantially reduce vibratory coupling.
In this video, we take you behind the scenes of one of our most spectacular test capabilities: bird strike impact testing, performed on a blade
from our ASCALON propeller range, tested with our own chicken cannon — a very rare capability in the propeller industry !

11- ASCALON Program Status – Update February 20th, 2026
The entire ASCALON propeller range for direct-drive Lycoming & Continental engines from 80 to 270 hp
(4-cylinder engines up to 210 hp and 6-cylinder engines up to 270 hp)
is currently under development and entering production.
The 2-blade and 3-blade models for the Lycoming O-360 and Lycoming O-320 engines are available in 74-inch and 76-inch
diameters.
See the CATALOG here: ASCALON for Lycoming O-360
For this engine and within these diameter ranges, we recommend:
- for higher-speed aircraft: 2-blade propellers
- for slower aircraft and STOL operations: 3-blade propellers
Molds for additional diameters, both smaller and larger, are currently being manufactured and will be available soon.
Regarding the Continental O-200, and Lycoming O-235 engines, the 2-blade and 3-blade models are currently undergoing testing.
Bench tests have been completed, and we have recently acquired a Jodel DR1054 equipped with an O-320 engine in order to conduct flight testing.
These versions are expected to be available in approximately two months, initially in 72-inch and 74-inch diameters, followed by a gradual rollout of additional diameters.
=> E-Props’ objective is to offer the complete ASCALON range, with a wide choice of configurations, blade counts, and diameters.
